Workshops and talks on psychological safety

Since 2017 I have been working actively with psychological safety. I have worked with teams and organisations to achieve safety, and I have spoken about this at many conferences. On regular basis I give the talks and workshops inside companies as a one of.

I had the privilege of attending a workshop Gitte conducted for our team of Engineering Managers at Nordnet, and it was nothing short of inspiring.
Gitte possesses an exceptional ability to articulate the principles of psychological safety in a manner that is both engaging and deeply insightful. Her workshop was not only informative but also transformative, providing us with practical strategies to foster a more inclusive and supportive work environment.
Motivated by her compelling presentation, I went on to organise similar workshops within my own teams.
Gitte’s dedication, knowledge, and passion for promoting psychological safety are truly commendable. I am grateful for the opportunity to have learned from her and would highly recommend her to any organisation seeking to enhance their workplace culture and team cohesion.

Customized talks and workshops

Sometimes companies and other organisations come to me and ask for a specific talk or a specific perspective on a topic. Most topic are something I have talked about at public conferences, and most organisations are in tech. And then sometimes they are not 🙂

I find it super interesting to help this way.

Impostor Syndrome at WeThinkCode, South Africa

This organisation help people get into tech, and on regular basis they have a guest speaker. I was approached because the students requested information about the impostor syndrome and put together a short talk, so the students had plenty of time to ask questions

We work with students from different walks of life, with or without prior experience, always learning something new. Asking Gitte to speak to our students on the topic of impostor syndrome was the best decision we have ever made. The students and staff in attendance came out of the talk fulfilled, the was meant for the students, but even staff learned a lot from it. Gitte is professional, punctual, and her talks are thoroughly planned and structured.

Statements from former colleagues

Gitte embodies professionalism, valuing the pivotal role of individuals within organizations, fostering environments where people flourish.

Working alongside her, I admired her agile coaching process and unwavering commitment to doing what’s right, always looking for opportunities to have a broader impact rather than only local improvements.

She excels at promoting growth among engineers, cultivating psychological safety, implementing good engineering practices in order to elevate companies to new heights.

If you seek someone with profound software development expertise, a candid leadership style and a knack for driving systemic change, Gitte is your ideal choice.

Evandro Mohr, 22nd of March 2024
Engineering Manager at Volvo

This is long overdue but since Gitte and I have been collaborating on and off ever since we first met at Spotify the right moment for writing a recommendation has never been obvious to me. As I just wrote, we’ve been working together in and out of assignments for about seven years now which in itself shows how much I respect Gitte and her knowledge and competence.
If you and your organization is ready for growth and change there a not many people out there that can help you with it as well as Gitte. She will help you find the opportunities for improvement and make sure that you follow through with them. Her ability to align the dimensions of individual well-being and growth together with company objectives is remarkable and holding people accountable for deliveries while fostering psychological safety is one of her key strengths. I’ve seen Gitte doing wonders as a coach with individuals, teams and leadership and highly recommend her.

Member of the Educational Advisory Board for the Department of Computer Science

For 13 year I have been a member of educational advisory boards at Aalborg University, where I have been part of discussing many things over the years from specific educations to what we would expect from graduates, when they are done.

I have really enjoyed coming to our meetings: I like to use my experience from many years of consulting and engaging in discussions as well as giving input to educations. It has been interesting seeing the department evolve over the years and nice knowing I have a tiny part in that.

It gives me great pleasure to write this reference for Gitte Klitgaard. I have been working with Gitte on the Educational Advisory Board for the Department of Computer Science at Aalborg University since 2011. I have enjoyed many deep discussions with Gitte who has a broad insight in the IT industry, especially agile engineering practices, tech strategy and culture. In her capacity as member of the Educational Advisory Board, Gitte has contributed to the overall strategy of Aalborg University. Via her work on the board, Gitte has been instrumental in attracting more female students to the IT studies and more broadly encouraging more women to join the tech industry.
Gitte is a highly motivated and hardworking individual. I give Gitte my warmest recommendations.
